VISION 2030 EMPHASIZES NOT ONLY STUDENT OUTCOMES, BUT ALSO OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO RECRUIT, DEVELOP, AND RETAIN EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATORS ACROSS OUR DISTRICT.
TIA ALIGNS THIS WORK BY PROVIDING A STRUCTURED, STATE SUPPORTED WAY TO RECOGNIZE AND REWARD HIGHLY EFFECTIVE TEACHING USING MANY OF THE SAME INDICATORS WE ALREADY VALUE AS A DISTRICT, SUCH AS TEACHING AND LEARNING AND STUDENT GROWTH.
SO, RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT TEACHERS ARE THE LEADING CONTRIBUTORS TO STUDENT SUCCESS.
TIA IS A STATE ESTABLISHED PROGRAM THROUGH HOUSE BILL 3, AND IT WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2019.
IT WAS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE DISTRICTS WITH BOTH THE SYSTEM AND THE FUNDING TO ENHANCE TEACHER COMPENSATION BY RECOGNIZING AND REWARDING HIGH QUALITY INSTRUCTION AND TEACHING. IN ADDITION TO THE COMPENSATION, THE PROGRAM IS INTENDED TO SUPPORT DISTRICTS IN RECRUITING AND RETAINING STRONG EDUCATORS, PARTICULARLY IN HIGH COMPETITIVE HIRING ENVIRONMENTS.
ALSO, A KEY COMPONENT OF TIA IS ITS FOCUS ON EQUITY, SPECIFICALLY INCENTIVIZING HIGHLY EFFECTIVE TEACHERS TO WORK IN HIGH NEEDS AREAS AND HARD TO STAFF AREAS ACROSS OUR STATE. NOW THAT I'VE OUTLINED TIA AND ITS INTENDED PURPOSE, THE QUESTION BECOMES, HOW DOES TIA ALIGN WITH OUR PRIORITIES AND STRENGTHS THAT WE ALREADY HAVE IN PLACE HERE IN MANSFIELD ISD? AND HERE IN MANSFIELD, WE HAVE ABOUT 18 TEACHERS IN OUR DISTRICT THAT WERE DESIGNATED IN OTHER DISTRICTS PRIOR TO COMING TO MANSFIELD.

NOW, MIND YOU, ALL OF OUR T TEST SUPERVISORS, WHICH IS OUR PRINCIPALS AND OUR ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS, THEY UNDERGO THE SAME TRAINING AND THEY USE THE SAME MATERIALS, BUT THERE MIGHT BE SLIGHT NUANCES BECAUSE WE'RE ALL DIFFERENT.

WHEN THE CITY CANCELED THEIR ELECTION, WE ASSUMED RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ELECTION.
FOR OUR PORTION OF IT. SO WHAT THIS NEW AMENDMENT DOES IS, ONE, WE HAVE TO APPOINT AN EARLY VOTING CLERK, WHICH WOULD BE ME. AND THERE ARE SOME OTHER THINGS THAT WE'VE ADDED IN ADDITION THAT WE'RE WRAPPING INTO ONE ORDER, SO WE DON'T HAVE TO CONTINUALLY BRING AMENDMENTS TO THE BOARD THAT INCLUDES OUR, WE HAVE TO BRING OUR, APPROVE OUR, OUR PRESIDING JUDGES AND OUR ELECTION WORKERS AND STUFF LIKE THAT.
SO THIS IS THAT IT GIVES ME THE AUTHORITY FROM YOU GUYS TO ORDER OUR ELECTION AND MAKE SURE THAT WE ARE EXECUTING IT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAW, AND ALSO SETTING UP OUR POLLING LOCATIONS AND THINGS LIKE THAT. PERFECT EXPLANATION.
